The first of Huawei 5G smartphone is scheduled to make its debut in the Q3 2019. Reports suggest that it could be the Mate 30, as a continuation of the existing lineup. This upcoming 5G smartphone will feature Huawei’s own 5G modem.<br />
<br />
<img alt="Huawei 5G Smartphone" src="https://www.techgenyz.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/huawei-5g-smartphone.jpg" /><br />
<br />
Huawei’s global analyst summit in Shenzhen, for the year 2018 has already begun. During this symposium, the Chinese manufacturer has laid out detailed plans for its ventures in 2019, which is from where this information came up.<br />
<br />
Since 5G is supposed to gain momentum next year, Huawei’s challenge to the fore should hit the markets in the latter half of 2019. Since this year’s model is named Mate 20, tech analysts expect that the model from the next year could be dubbed Mate 30.<br />
<br />
In perfect sync with the earlier Huawei Mate launches, the newest device in the lineup is scheduled to debut sometime in Q3 2019, as per the official information from the manufacturing company.<br />
<br />
Huawei’s first 5G modem – the Balong 5G01 chip – was brought out at Mobile World Congress. As per the official announcement, it possesses a bandwidth capacity of 2.3Gbps. While the size of the chipset suggests its usage in mobile hotspots and self-driving automotive, it seems Huawei is about to challenge that assumption. It is currently working on a 5G modem that is meant for phones and will be included in its next 5G feature phone, as suggested before.<br />
<br />
Huawei wishes to be an end-to-end services provider for 5G. It plans to deliver network equipment to service providers as well as making 5G-ready hardware available in the market for consumers. Albeit Huawei’s setback in the US in the recent months, it doesn’t seem that its calculated move forward is to be deterred in any way.<br />
<br />
According to Huawei’s predictions, there will be a 1.1 billion 5G connections by the year 2025, that’s in the next 7 years. This figure will include 200 million 5G-connected cars. While that is indeed an ambitious target, we are yet to see how Huawei takes the step towards its fulfillment, with the launch of its first 5G-enabled phone.</div>

The Asian iteration of MWC is currently taking place in Shanghai and all big smartphone manufacturers are there. There's no actual phones coming from the events, but we still get some interesting technology announcements.<br />
<br />
The latest comes from Huawei, which said it's planning to introduce 5G chips in March 2019, followed by 5G phones by the end of the following quarter.<br />
<br />
<img alt="Image result for Huawei to launch 5G chips and phones by June 2019" src="https://i-cdn.phonearena.com/images/article/106156-two_lead/Huaweis-first-5G-smartphones-will-arrive-in-June-2019.jpg" /><br />
<br />
CEO Eric Xu stated that with the Release 16 of the 3GPP protocol issues with low-latency and massive connectivity will be cleared and the development of 5G networks and services will open up. According to the Mr. Xu, the 5G networks will promote mobile video streaming and other services like Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality.<br />
<br />
To cover demand for such networks, the company will roll out commercial solutions for NSA (non-standalone) networks in September 2018, while standalone platforms like an eventual 5G Kirin SoC will follow by March next year.</div>

Motorola's just announced a big event for August 2 at its HQ in Chicago. We're expecting the Moto Z3 to be unveiled there, alongside the already leaked Motorola One Power. There might, however, be a third device joining them.<br />
<br />
Today a new leak brings us information about the upcoming Motorola One, which you can see in the renders below.<br />
<br />
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/motorola-one-leak/-728/gsmarena_001.jpg" /><br />
<br />
This is said to be smaller than the One Power, though it's not clear whether that means it has a smaller screen or is just more compact. From the front, the two certainly look alike, screen notch and all (though the chin on the One Power does seem smaller). The back is where the One clearly diverges from the One Power, as you can see from the comparison shot below.<br />
<br />
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/motorola-one-leak/-728/gsmarena_002.jpg" /><br />
<br />
The Motorola One sports a glass rear, while the One Power is metal. The dual rear camera design is different too, and the One seems to employ a dual-tone LED flash - compared to the One Power's single LED. The One will launch in black and white, with other hues possibly joining those.<br />
<br />
What's pretty much certain at this point is that Motorola is working on a new line of smartphones, and the One branding is widely speculated to imply that both of these will be Android One devices, with a clean Google-esque software experience and prompt updates.<br />
<br />
The Motorola One Power could come with a 3,780 mAh battery, as per past rumors, and that capacity is probably what's alluded at by the Power branding. On the other hand, the Motorola One might go with a smaller cell and thus be slimmer.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The LG Stylo 4 launched in the US at MetroPCS last week, and tomorrow it's also going to land at Cricket. The AT&T-owned prepaid carrier couldn't let T-Mobile's subsidiary have all the stylus-aided fun, it seems.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/lg-stylo-4-cricket/-250x/gsmarena_002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/lg-stylo-4-cricket/-250x/gsmarena_002.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Cricket will sell you a Stylo 4 for $229.99. Keep in mind that a $30 per month plan is required in order to get it at that price. You can pick between black or Metallic Lavender color options.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The LG Stylo 4 has a 6.2-inch FHD+ touchscreen sans notch, DTS:X premium surround sound through headphones, an octa-core processor in Qualcomm's Snapdragon 450 chipset, a 13 MP main camera, and a 5 MP selfie snapper.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Of course you also get an integrated stylus, which helps you quickly launch note taking and screen writing apps when you pull it out. With Screen-off Memo you just write, without the need to turn on the display beforehand. A pop-up message will ensure you don't lose your stylus, and Pop Lens lets you use the stylus to magnify text. You can also create GIFs from videos by using the pen.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Interestingly enough, Cricket's version packs 3GB of RAM, compared to only 2GB for MetroPCS' model. A 3,300 mAh battery keeps the lights on, and the phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with LG UX 7.0 on top.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another day, another new feature addition to Instagram. The Facebook-owned service has certainly broken records over the past few months when it comes to speed of adding new functionality.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today Stories gain music stickers. When you tap to add a sticker to a photo or video in Stories, choose the new music icon and pick from a collection of thousands of songs (new ones added every day), which you can search for by name, mood, or genre. There's also a selection of what's popular.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/instagram-stories-music/-728w3/gsmarena_001.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can hear a preview and then choose the exact part of the song that best fits your story. What's more, you can even pick a song before capturing a video. It will then play in the background as you record the video.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Obviously, people who view your story will hear the song playing while they gawk at your photo or video. A sticker will tell them the song title and artist name.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/instagram-stories-music/-728w3/gsmarena_002.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The music sticker is available as part of Instagram version 51 on Android and iOS in select countries. The ability to choose a song before capturing a video is limited to the iOS app at the moment. This functionality should make it to Android soon.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Instagram has also used this announcement to brag about the fact that Stories have reached 400 million daily active users. That's impressive, and the feature has definitely come a long way since its Snapchat-copying days of the past.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
While Oppo made its return to flagships, the company is also stepping up its efforts in the affordable segment. Images and specs of an Oppo A5 have surfaced that paint a picture that’s part Oppo A3, part Realme 1 and part its own thing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The phone will have a 6.2” screen with 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch similar to the A3, but with lower resolution – 720 x 1,520 px. And it will be powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor on what is allegedly a Snapdragon 450 chipset (a downgrade from the Helio P60). Memory is the same, though, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage (possibly expandable).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Interestingly, the Oppo A5 will be an upgrade over its siblings in two areas. First is the dual camera on its back – 13 + 2 MP.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<img alt="Oppo A5 leaked images" height="250" src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/oppo-a5-rumor/-x250/gsmarena_002.jpg" style="animation-duration: 0.35s; animation-fill-mode: both; animation-name: linesMoveDown; border: 1px solid rgb(215, 215, 215); box-sizing: content-box; font: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="283" /><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arimo, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> </span><img alt="Oppo A5 leaked images" height="250" src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/oppo-a5-rumor/-x250/gsmarena_003.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="306" /><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arimo, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The back is lifted from the Realme phone, though the A5 is slightly thicker and so it will have a larger battery. Actually, the 4,230 mAh capacity is large by any measure. Anyway, the back is the same also in the sense that there’s no fingerprint reader on it – the 8 MP selfie camera will have to serve face unlock duty.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There’s no word on launch date or pricing, but given the specs we expect that the Oppo A5 will cost about the same or be slightly cheaper than the A3 and Realme 1.</div>
</div>

Qualcomm has already made its intentions to creep into the x86 PC realm pretty clear. Windows on ARM is already happening, with some devices, like the ASUS "Primus" even in production stages. A newly unearthed Qualcomm job posting, for an engineer now sheds some light on just how serious Microsoft is looking into ARM.<br />
<br />
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/snapdragon-1000-wider-usage/inline/-728/gsmarena_005.jpg" /><br />
<br />
Apparently, the Redmond giant is already busy testing Qualcomm chips for a wide range of devices, ranging from the pretty apparent ultra-portables and tablets, all the way to AR and VR and even desktop PC offerings.<br />
<br />
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/snapdragon-1000-wider-usage/inline/-728/gsmarena_002.jpg" /><br />
<br />
This development does make a lot of sense, given that Qualcomm also seems to be doubling-down on its ARM lineup for Windows use. Besides the Snapdragon 835, originally used for early development work, there is now a Snapdragon 850- a more powerful variant of the SD835, as well as the Snapdragon 1000. The latter seems to be particularly interesting, since it is custom-made for a Windows environment and aimed squarely at Intel's low-powered lineup. Besides the original 6.5W TDP version, the Snapdragon 1000 has also been spotted, in an even more-potent 12W package.<br />
<br />
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/snapdragon-1000-wider-usage/inline/-728/gsmarena_003.jpg" /><br />
<br />
It should roughly measure up to Intel’s U-series – e.g. 8250U and 8550U, in terms of raw power and its no wonder Microsoft is trying to task these chips with heavier workloads, like AR and VR. The desktop portion of the job listing does come as more of a surprise. Still, we can easily see the Snapdragon 1000, or a similar chip making its way into a future Intel NUC.<br />
<br />
Last, but not least, the mention of project "Andromeda" kind of caught us by surprise. Dusting off some old rumors and leaks on the matter, brings back the story of a foldable display tablet-style device. So, without jumping to any conclusions, it appears that's still in the development pipeline.<br />
<br />
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/snapdragon-1000-wider-usage/inline/-728/gsmarena_004.jpg" /><br />
<br />
How do you think this new ARM development branch is going to pan out? Are you excited to see Qualcomm chips in mode devices? Tell us in the comments.</div>

SIM – the Subscriber Identity Module – is an ever-shrinking card that acts as your access pass to the carrier’s cell network. Once it was used to store your phone book and text messages, now it’s under threat of extinction.<br />
<br />
Embedded SIM solutions have started cropping up, mostly in smartwatches where a maker can make a reasonable claim that dropping the card slot is a space-saving solution. But Google put an eSIM in its second-gen Pixel phones (used to connect to the Google Fi network), and Apple has its own “Apple SIM” embedded in iPads.<br />
<br />
Apple, in particular, does some iffy stuff where an iPad on AT&T locks the eSIM to that carrier while iPads on Verizon’s network have their eSIMs deactivated altogether. With such restrictions, we’d rather manually swap out nanoSIM cards as needed.<br />
<br />
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/counterclockwise-card-slots/-728/gsmarena_003.jpg" /><br />
<br />
Apple isn’t a fan of user-inserted cards in general – the company has never supported microSD (or other flash card format) on its mobile devices, and we’re pretty sure it never will.<br />
<br />
And it’s not just Apple too, many phone makers have stopped offering a memory expansion slot. Sure, a microSD car is nowhere near as fast as embedded memory, especially if we’re talking about UFS storage. What happened to UFS cards anyway? Samsung designed a slot that works with both microSD and UFS cards two years ago, and we haven’t heard a peep since.<br />
<br />
The good news is that there are plenty of models out there that offer a microSD. There are some dual SIM models with a dedicated microSD card slot, but most often with dual SIM phones we’re looking at hybrid slots.<br />
<br />
<img src="https://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/18/06/counterclockwise-card-slots/gsmarena_002.png" /><br />
<br />
Even among flagships there are still plenty of phones to choose from that will let you expand the memory when the built-in storage gets cramped after a year or two of usage. With flagships, hybrid slots seem to be the most popular choice on the dual SIM models - that or “none.”<br />
<br />
Like it or not, there are flagships out there with dual SIM versions that don’t care about the microSD card from your old phone that’s full of your photos and music. We won’t point fingers – but our Phone finder will, here’s the list of recent premium dual SIM phones with no memory expansion.</div>

<a name='more'></a><br />
Here's to the end of yet another hectic June week that saw big announcements and big leaks. The beginning of June was the Xiaomi Mi 8's time, last week it was the vivo NEX S and A that got their time in the spotlight and this week the Oppo Find X became official with a slide-out camera module, no notch and crazy-high specs like 8GB of RAM and a 6.42-inch AMOLED screen.<br />
<br />
The Find X announcement was shared by the Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition - a special edition with Super VOOC charging. If you're willing to pay the unreasonable €1,700 asking price and are lucky enough to find it in stock somewhere, you'll enjoy an exclusive experience.<br />
<br />
Our attention now turns to the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, which will become official next week - on June 25.<br />
<br />
The Xiaomi Mi 8 went on sale in Russia and France this week and LG made the X5 (2018) official - an entry-level smartphone with a 4,500mAh battery.<br />
<br />
The rest of the week saw the usual amount of leaks and rumors. The ZTE nubia Z18 showed its face via its first live photo, a gallery of images shot with the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium's dual cameras appeared, we saw what the canceled Samsung "Project V" foldable smartphone would have looked like and the Xiaomi Mi A2 showed up in a retail listing in Switzerland.</div>

<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">As for the U 11 itself, we already know HTC is grooming it as a new flagship offer. The manufacturer has only gone on record teasing something rather cryptic, it calls "360 real-live recording" and not much beyond that. Thankfully, AnTuTu, Geekbench and GFXBench listings for the U 11 have already surfaced. As far as we can gather, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm's latest, 10nm Snapdragon 835 chipset, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. It will likely use a 5.5-inch, QHD panel with a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Other alleged specs include a 12MP main camera and a 16MP selfie one. HTC Sense will likely run on top of Android 7.1.1 on the device. Also, IP57 waterproofing, HTC BoomSound, a fingerprint reader, QuickCharge 3.0 on the 3,000 mAh battery and no 3.5mm audio jack. But, despite all the specs leaks, the U 11 still holds a lot of mystery. There is the "360 real-live recording" thing we mentioned earlier, butt also what is described as a gesture-recognizing frame. Apparently the phone will be able to sense squeeze and trigger actions based on that gesture.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Left and right views" height="228" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/htc-u-11-render-in-red/-315/gsmarena_005.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="315" /><img alt="Left and right views" height="228" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/htc-u-11-render-in-red/-315/gsmarena_003.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="315" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">At $659, we doubt the HTC U 11 will really explode in sales on the current smarthpone scene. Still, if HTC continues to grow its list of intriguing extra features, the U 11 might just leave a dent or two in competitor sales numbers once it comes out.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Microsoft's Build 2017 conference, was probably the most forward-looking and paradigm-shifting such event to come along in years. The Redmond giant used the venue to introduce a whole new visual identity to replace Metro, called Fluent Design. It also made important steps to unify and refocus its AR and VR efforts under a more unified banner and strategic plan. Additionally, it offered a glimpse into the next Windows 10 Creator's update, coming this Fall.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/inline/-728/gsmarena_002.jpg" /></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">But, the thing that really caught our attention on a grander scale is a fresh new Microsoft mindset, probably best encompassed by the "Windows PCs Love All Your Devices" slogan. This one sentence could potentially guide Microsoft's role in the mobile tech future as a whole.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">To put it simple, it really sounds like Microsoft has learned from its past mishaps as a proprietary player on the smartphone market. Instead of battling it out with the likes of Android and iOS, the new plan seems to be to position the Windows experience at the center of the future digital lifestyle.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Fluent Design" height="62" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_004.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /><img alt="Fluent Design" height="62" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_005.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /><img alt="Fluent Design" height="62" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_006.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /><img alt="Fluent Design" height="62" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_007.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /><img alt="Fluent Design" height="62" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_008.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">What this means in practice is that Microsoft has decided to fall back on its biggest strength as a long-standing governor of your PC and intermediary in advanced productivity tasks. As such, it only makes sense for said powerful device and the Windows platform to be the central hub of your activities. To quote Microsoft’s own Joe Belfiore:</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #057cff; font-family: "Calibri Light","sans-serif"; font-size: 13.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;">In society people are using tons of devices and as yet there's not a way to orchestrate what you do across them. It's unorganized … For us what the vision is being human-centered. You're a person that does different activities and you're going to choose different devices from different companies so we're going to make sense of that for you.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #057cff; font-family: "Calibri Light","sans-serif"; font-size: 13.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">But besides lofty ideas, Microsoft also has new feature announcements to back them up. It is introducing new Timeline and Cortana versions that let you resume apps exactly where you left off on other Windows 10 devices. In addition, the online Graph service will start acting like a gateway for developers to achieve the same level of integration in their apps across Android and iOS devices as well.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/inline/-728/gsmarena_003.jpg" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Another interesting part of this seamless integration is a new connected clipboard feature. It will allows Windows 10 users to copy content on the PC and then paste in on their smartphone. Microsoft is making this possible through its recent SwiftKey acquisition. So, be on the lookout for an update for the popular mobile keyboard with the feature soon.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Fluent Design" height="62" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_009.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /><img alt="Fluent Design" height="62" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_010.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /><img alt="Fluent Design" height="62" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_011.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /><img alt="Fluent Design" height="61" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_012.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /><img alt="Fluent Design" height="62" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/microsoft-build-2017/gal/-120/gsmarena_013.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="120" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Still, all this doesn't necessarily mean Microsoft is throwing its gloves in on the mobile front altogether. On the contrary. Build 2017 also featured a demo of an early Windows 10 build for ARM chipsets, seamlessly running x86 Win32 applications. Microsoft also promised there is no trickery involved - no virtual machines, no UWP recompiling and repackaging. Just a powerful compatibility layer, translating instructions real-time and even caching some of them for improved performance over time.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Naturally, the product implications of this project could be tremendous. If Redmond plays its cards right, the next wave of affordable, battery-efficient, lightweight and passively cooled ARM-based devices, like tablets and even phones could actually be running a full-featured desktop Windows OS.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">It's an exciting though, to say the least.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Google has redesigned its Contacts app to version 2.0. The new version brings a cleaner interface and has incorporated the account switcher in a much better way.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Now there's a slide-out menu with an account switch button like on other Google apps (think Drive or Gmail).</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The contact page has also seen a redesign. Previously the contact picture took up half of the screen with all of the contact info crammed below - now the picture is a much smaller circle and you get much more at-a-glance.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Finally and quite naturally Contacts 2.0 supports the new Android O notification channels.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Word of a new mid-ranger from Huawei's Honor sub-brand has been floating around the rumor mill for some time now. A new report claims to have some much-needed specifics on the handset, namely an announcement date of June 20 or June 21 and a suggested price tag of INR 2,499 ($362).</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/04/honor-9-leaks-in-new-color/-600/gsmarena_001.jpg" /></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">To give you some background, the Honor 9 has been the subject of at least a couple of leaked renders. Despite revealing the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack on the model, these have proven controversial since they bear too many similarities with the Honor 8.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">This has led to some speculation that Huawei is actually planning to release a Honor 8s refresh instead of or alongside the Honor 9. The confusion then is quite understandable, but regardless of the name, rumors suggest the $362 or so handset will offer a 5.2-inch, FullHD display, Kirin 960 chipset and 32GB or 64GB of UFS 2.0 storage. Likely expandable as well. There was also word of up to 6GB of RAM, but 4GB frankly seems a little bit more feasible at this price point.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/04/honor-9-allegedly-leaks/-728/gsmarena_002.jpg" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">A dual 22MP, plus 12MP monochrome camera setup will probably be part of the mix as well. As for the battery pack, insider sources have offered conflicting numbers, but capacity will likely be at least on par with the Honor 8 and its 3,000 mAh.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Motorola's upcoming device portfolio is still shrouded in a lot of mystery. A new Moto Z2 flagship is pretty much certain at this point and so is a fresh addition to the Moto X line.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">However, reputable leakster @evleaks claims what we tough would be the Moto X (2017) will actually be called the Moto X4. And given his reputation and the accompanying banner, we have every reason to believe so.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Regardless of the name, the handset in question was featured in a recent teaser video, as well as a leaked presentation a few hours ago. The quoted specs paint a premium mid-range offering - sitting right below the Z2 in Moto's lineup.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The Moto X4 should feature a 5.5-inch display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and Qualcomm's newly unveiled Snapdragon 660 chipset. Other suggested specs include a 3,800 mAh battery, a front-facing fingerprint scanner, IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a full metal build, and laser autofocus for the main camera.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Here's the thing: Android version updates are a painfully slow affair for every device that isn't a Nexus or Pixel. This has been the reality ever since the operating system's inception, and so far nothing has managed to change the situation. But Google thinks that it can help, at least somewhat, by incorporating a modular base into its OS, starting with the Android O release later this year.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Up until this point, here are the steps that have been required for an OS update on a non-Google device to make it into your hands:</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/android-treble/-728/gsmarena_002.jpg" /></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Quite complicated indeed. But from this point on Android will gain a "Vendor Interface" (VI), thanks to a new development effort Google calls Project Treble. The VI's aim is to separate the "Vendor Implementation" (that is, "the device-specific, lower-level software written in large part by the silicon manufacturers"), from the Android OS framework.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/android-treble/-728/gsmarena_003.jpg" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The new VI will sit in between the Android OS framework and the aforementioned Vendor Implementation. And the new VI will be validated by a Vendor Test Suite (VTS), which is analogous to the Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) that Google has been using for API testing of apps. The VTS will ensure forward-compatibility of the VI.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/android-treble/-728/gsmarena_004.jpg" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The benefits of this approach are pretty obviously laid out in the images above. Before, the VI needed to be reworked after every single Android OS framework update, while from this point on that won't be the case anymore. This does indeed have the potential to speed up the update process for end users, but probably not by a lot. Your handset's manufacturer will still add its own "features" on top of the new Android release, and some of those will still need rewriting. Nothing changes from that point of view. It's only that, with Project Treble, no additional work will be required from silicon manufacturers before a device maker can get into that process.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Project Treble is already live in the first developer preview of Android O, and it will come to all new devices launching with Android O preinstalled.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">In addition to all this, Google says it's working with its silicon and device making partners to move some of their code changes, such as specific features for a specific network in a specific country, into the Android Open Source Project code. That means the developers of that code (say, Sony and Qualcomm) won't need to rework those patches for every new Android iteration anymore.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Earlier today we told you all about T-Mobile's Buy One, Get One free (BOGO) deals for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6, and now Sprint has launched its counter-offer for the magenta carrier. The Now Network forgoes Android devices and jumps straight to the iPhone.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>

<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">It's offering you a free (after bill credits) iPhone 7 if you lease another iPhone 7. So you'll pay $27.09 per month as you would if you only wanted one device, but will in fact get two. Caveats? Sure. Aside from the fact that bill credits are involved (and will be applied "within two invoices"), you should also note that at least one of those two iPhones needs to be activated on a new line - while the other one can be on another new line, or an upgrade.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Additionally, don't forget that this deal involves leasing the phones, not purchasing them in installments. You are required to use the 18-month lease option, and the handsets need to be on Unlimited Freedom plans. On the other hand, you can switch to a newer iPhone after just 12 months, but you will need to hand in that iPhone 7 when you do (since you were only leasing it).</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The upcoming 2017 edition of the Moto X will by all accounts be Motorola's premium mid-range offering - sitting in its portfolio right below the new Z2. This phone has been talked about a lot so far, but some of the details purported to be about it have in fact turned out to be describing other Motorola devices, such as the G5 Plus.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">But it's clear that we are getting ever closer to the Moto X (2017)'s launch, and today a presentation of the new handset has been leaked in China. As always, we can't verify the authenticity of this, but here are the three most relevant captures from the nine-second video.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Leaked shots from a Moto X (2017) presentation" data-square="34320" height="176" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/moto-x-presentation/-x176/gsmarena_001.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="195" /><img alt="Leaked shots from a Moto X (2017) presentation" data-square="37664" height="176" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/moto-x-presentation/-x176/gsmarena_002.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="214" /><img alt="Leaked shots from a Moto X (2017) presentation" data-square="39776" height="176" src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/17/05/moto-x-presentation/-x176/gsmarena_003.jpg" style="border: 1px solid rgba(230, 230, 230, 0.6); box-sizing: content-box; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="226" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">First off, we have to notice that the position of the dual-LED flash in this phone is different from what we've so far seen in leaks reportedly portraying the new Moto X. So either those past outings were once again showing other devices, or something's off here.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The spec list for the Moto X (2017), allegedly shared at that secret presentation, tells us that it will have a 5.5-inch display, the newly unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 3,800 mAh battery with QuickCharge support (the exact version of which is unknown).</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The handset will have a front fingerprint scanner, IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a full metal build, and a laser autofocus for the main camera. There's also something called "AI integration", because Motorola simply couldn't miss out on using the latest buzzword in the mobile space.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Cupertino has announced its intentions to invest $200 million in Corning Incorporated - the US company behind the popular Gorilla glass technology. The money will go towards: "Corning’s R&D, capital equipment needs and state-of-the-art glass processing". Apple's CFO Jeff Williams commented on the move:</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #057cff; font-family: "Calibri Light","sans-serif"; font-size: 13.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-ascii-theme-font: major-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-hansi-theme-font: major-latin;">Corning is a great example of a supplier that has continued to innovate and they are one of Apple’s long-standing suppliers. This partnership started 10 years ago with the very first iPhone, and today every customer that buys an iPhone or iPad anywhere in the world touches glass that was developed in America. We’re extremely proud of our collaboration over the years and we are investing further with Corning who has such a rich legacy of innovative manufacturing practices.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Ever since the introduction of the original iPhone, back in 2007, Apple and Corning have enjoyed a healthy strategic partnership. However, if you are wondering what this sudden outburst of generosity is all about, it is actually part of Apple's new Advanced Manufacturing Fund. The initiative was announced a few days ago by Tim Cook and its primary purpose is the investment of at least $1 billion with US-based manufacturing companies.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">It is a pretty interesting move that came about with the ultimate goal of supporting local American businesses. Cupertino claims it will benefit 2 million jobs in the US, including, but not limited to 450,000 at companies from its own supply chain.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Samsung has released an update for the Gear Fit2 fitness band, that should be rolling out to users right now. It includes a handful of new features to improve the tracking experience.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>

<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/16/11/gear-fit2-update/-728/gsmarena_001.jpg" /></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Gear Fit2 can now auto pause the activity tracking when it detects that the user has stopped. It can also automatically begin when it detects activity. This means you get accurate tracking and don't have to fiddle with the device during a session.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The Gear Fit2 can also track activities outside of the previous pre-defined activities. Things like basketball, table tennis, badminton, football, and even dancing are now categorized under Dynamic Workout and are automatically logged when the user engages for over ten minutes.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Lastly, Gear Fit2 is now better for tracking sets of repetitive workouts. You can program it to track things such as crunches, lunges, squats, etc. and it will count the reps for you and also display appropriate break intervals in between.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Just yesterday, we saw a Meizu X render that partially revealed the back of the device. And today, a couple of new renders alleged to be of the handset have leaked, showing off the front of the phone this time.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Here's the first render:</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/16/11/meizu-x-new-leak/inline/gsmarena_001.jpg" /></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The second render doesn't reveal much. It'd have revealed some useful information (presumably the device's specifications), but - as you can see in the render below - a lot of area in the image has been blurred, leaving almost everything to imagination.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<img src="http://cdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/news/16/11/meizu-x-new-leak/inline/gsmarena_002.jpg" /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Specs-wise, the Meizu X is rumored to be powered by a new Helio X30 chip manufactured by the premium 10nm process. The device is expected to be made official next week - November 30 to be precise.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Back in September Samsung sold its printer business to HP, and a shocking revelation from South Korea today claims it might do the same with its PC division. According to a report from a local news source in Samsung's home country, the company has been in secret talks with Lenovo for the past few months, with the aim of selling its PC business to the Chinese company.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://stech2.firstpost.com/tech2images/640x359/proportional/jpeg/2016/11/Samsung-pc-624x351.jpg" /></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">Some Korean analysts peg the sales value at 1 trillion won (around $850 million), but the final number can obviously be wildly different.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri Light, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">The printer business was sold because through its most recent reorganization Samsung wants to focus more on its core divisions, but also for the fact that printers aren't really breaking sales records anymore. Similarly, the PC market has been slowly shrinking over the past few years, and for the long run it might not be worth it for Samsung to invest in this area anymore. The company has chosen not to comment on this matter.</span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "calibri light" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">If you have an LG Nexus 5X bought from the US, you might be among the unlucky few whose devices have been stuck in a boot loop. This basically renders the handset unusable, since it never successfully completes a boot after entering this state. It's definitely not the first LG handset to have this issue, by the way. But there's some good news for owners of affected Nexus 5X units.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "calibri light" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"></span></span><br />

<a name='more'></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "calibri light" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">According to multiple reports on reddit, LG's arm in the US is offering to give people full refunds for the smartphone in case this happens. People who have sent their Nexus 5X handsets in for repair following the appearance of the boot loop problem have reported receiving an email from LG, the contents of which read:</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "calibri light" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #057cff; font-family: "calibri light" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><i>We're sorry to hear that you've experienced a problem with your LGH790 and appreciate you giving us the opportunity to provide a warranty repair. We have received your device at our repair facility but currently a part to complete the repair is out of stock and is no longer available. To rectify this issue, we would like to offer you a refund for the full amount of your device. That amount will be determined by your sales receipt. Your refund can take approximately 4 weeks to receive due to the holiday.</i></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #057cff; font-family: "calibri light" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;"><i>So it looks like the company is finding it impossible to repair those phones, and since the Nexus 5X isn't being produced anymore it can't send you a new replacement unit either. The only thing left to do then is issue a full refund.</i></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "calibri light" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 17.3333px;">This email was received by people regardless of where they purchased the Nexus 5X from (as long as it was an official seller in the US). To ensure the same outcome, you'll need to contact LG support about the problem, then send your phone in to be checked, and then wait. The email should arrive in your inbox within a few days. After that, you can just reply to the email saying you agree to the refund, and the company will send you the necessary details.</span></span></div>
