First camera samples from the Sony Xperia XZ are here
The Sony Xperia XZ is the company's true flagship - as we suspected the X Performance was just the interim one, to hold some ground against the Korean top-dogs while the finishing touches on the XZ were being done. Well it's here now, and we were quick to go out and shoot some camera samples.
The Xperia XZ comes with a 23MP sensor, matching the resolution of the Xperia Z5, Xperia X and X Performance (though it packs a few more pixels than that highest-res 23MP image it can output). It's coupled to an f/2.0 lens too, but now has laser autofocus added plus an RGBC-IR sensor to better gauge the proper white balance. Another notable feature is 4K video recording - the XZ is the only X-series model that can do it.
The Xperia XZ also gets a 13MP selfie camera, the highest resolution on a Sony flagship with the letter Z in it. That's just linguistics, though - both the X and X Performance have a 13MP front-facing camera, so that's not unique to the XZ.
Anyway here are some photos taken with the Xperia XZ in the brief moments of sunshine that we were spared since we've had it around. For more on the Xperia XZ, stay tuned for our in-depth review, now in the making.
